Former Infinity Ward heads Jason West and Vince Zampella’s new studio, Respawn Entertainment, has offered its first details on their newest game. The unsurprising bit? It’s a shooter. More interesting? It’s a science fiction title.  According to EA Games president Frank Gibeau, this still-ambiguous title “allows us to compete with things like Gears and Halo.” This fits with a statement by industry analyst Michael Pachter, made last year, in which he said he’d heard that Respawn’s first title was a “space shooter.” As of yet, no specifics on the game have been unveiled, but it is known to be one of two sci-fi oriented shooters that are in EA’s pipeline. |
