Mercs Cheats & Cheat Codes for Sega Gensis, and more!

Mercs Cheats & Cheat Codes for Sega Gensis, and more!

Mercs Summary

Mercs, as it is known in the West, was released in February 1990. It has a similar style of gameplay to various top-down shooters such as Contra, or very old-school Metal Gear. It was released under the name Senjō no Ōkami II, or “Wolf of the Battlefield II” for those who don’t speak Japanese. Upon its release, it received great commercial and critical success, with several outlets calling it their hit of the month, and Game Machine saying that it was its second hit game of May 1990.

Mercs Premise

Are you a bad enough dude to rescue the president? Wait, no, that’s a different game. But in any event, the former president has been kidnapped, and he’s being held hostage in the fictional African country of Zutula. Man, if I had a penny for every fake African country…

In any case, it’s your job as a member of Wolf Force to get in there and save the president. You have to fight through six different levels, each one with its boss at the end. Games back in the 1990s were a lot simpler than today, huh?

Mercs Main Characters

Just keep in mind that these aren’t going to be too in-depth, as there is not a lot to go on to begin with.

  • Joseph Gibson. Player 1 in blue. Also appears foremost on the box cover art.
  •  Howard Powell. Player 2 in red. He’s on the righthand side of the cover art.
  •  Thomas Clarke. Player 3 in yellow! I wish I could make up a rhyme for that. He’s on the left hand side of the cover art.
  •  The Former President. Somehow got kidnapped, and its your job to save him!

Mercs Titles of Video Games in the Series

  • Commando/Senjō no Ōkami (1985)
  •  Mercs/Senjō no Ōkami II (1990)

Mercs Cheat Code FAQ

Are there any cheats? Yep! You can find two above!

Do they have miniatures? That’s from a Tabletop game known as MERCS. Despite the name, they are unrelated.

Do cheat codes exist anymore? We wouldn’t be here if they didn’t!

And that’s all folks! Stay Safe!
