Michael Jackson’s Moonwalker is a game about the man with the fancy hat and the smoothest of moves. Michael Jackson was a professional dancer who starred in a variety of movies, stages, and, of course, games. Moonwalker is an arcade game where you play as the titular Michael Jackson, who fights against various men in suits using a variety of dance moves and short-range magic.
It’s an odd game to be sure, but it is a fun one! First released in 1990, the game received moderate success upon its release.
Michael Jackson’s Moonwalker Premise
There’s uh, no plot here. It’s just a beat-em-up for the arcade. The game is based on the music video of the same name. The King of Pop has to defeat the evil Mr. Big and save kidnapped children. It’s also based on the movie! Which is a loose collection of scenes edited together to form a movie based off of several music videos.
So… it is like a musical, now that I think about it.
