Ridge Racer Unbounded Delayed

Ridge Racer Unbounded Delayed

None

It’s starting to feel like NAMCO Bandai doesn’t really want us to play any of the Ridge Racer titles that they’ve been promising. First, they pushed Ridge Racer Vita back several weeks in the U.S. Now they’ve announced that Ridge Racer Unbounded has been delayed, and we have no idea when it’s actually going to hit the shelves.

No concrete reasons were given for the delay, only that the additional time would “give the development team some additional time to pack the disc with features that will truly make the game sing.” So, your guess is as good as ours.

I’m usually pretty understanding when a developer delays a game. After all, I would rather they take a little extra time to winnow out the bugs than try to make up for them after the fact with patches (I’m looking at you Bethesda). But these Ridge Racer delays are starting to feel more like incompetence than perfectionism.

In the upcoming weeks, the developer plans to make an announcement outlining “the new release date, pre-order incentives and a full list of features that will excite fans of the series.” But for now, we’ll have to wait patiently, or spend that time playing through one of the 19 other Ridge Racer titles.
