RUMOR: Might We See Epic Mickey 2?

RUMOR: Might We See Epic Mickey 2?

None

Disney’s Epic Mickey was an interesting game. It was artful, it had a great moral choice system and a wonderful set of mechanics based around environmental creation and destruction, and it seriously warped all our innocent childhood memories of Mickey Mouse. Unfortunately, it wasn’t a very gameful game. The platforming elements were horrible, Mickey controlled like a wind-up doll covered in plaster, and there were so many issues with the game’s camera it was nearly unplayable at times.

Honestly, I never thought we would see an Epic Mickey 2, especially after lead designer Warren Spector moved on to other things, but according to Destructiod, Disney thinks that there might be promise in a sequel after all. Disney is using online marketing to gauge how well an Epic Mickey 2 might be received. Several theoretical box art images have cropped up, showing not only the Epic Mickey 2 title, but several subtitles like “Return of the Mad Doctor” and “The Power of Two.”

According to the rumors that have started flying around as soon as this idea hit the web, the game would be considered for a release on all three home consoles. The biggest change is that the game will include a two player co-op mode in which Mickey teams up with Oswald, his rabbit companion from the first Epic Mickey. Oswald will apparently have different mechanics, such as the ability to fly with his ears or use electricity to stun enemies.

Right now, nothing has been officially announced. Still, there is a lot of evidence piling up, so keep your eyes out for more Epic Mickey 2 in the future.
