According to some hackers at ValveTime.net, there are references in the Source Filmmaker application that seem to point to a Source 2 Engine. Many fans have taken this to mean that Valve is working on the second iteration of their Source engine as we speak. Though simple text references may be sketchy at best, reports say there is much more than that including several tool icons referencing Source 2 Tools. These references also apparently label the engine as “next-gen” which has led many fans to believe that it is being designed for next-gen video games.
