Valve Fires Jeri Ellsworth

Valve Fires Jeri Ellsworth

Jeri Ellsworth, a member of Valve’s hardware R&D, has announced that she has been fired from Valve. The news comes straight from her Twitter feed, which simply stated “Yup. Got fired today. Time for new exciting projects.”

Valve’s hardware division is in charge of developing next gen gaming hardware such as the Steam Box, controllers, and new devices that can integrate with Steam’s big picture mode. Ellsworth was rumored to have been tinkering with possible biometric feedback integration.

So why was she handed a pink slip? Honestly, we have no idea, and no one else seems to have much of an idea either. Ellsworth hasn’t commented, and Valve hasn’t released a statement on the situation. We don’t hear many stories about Valve employees getting fired, so whatever happened, it has to be big.

We will bring you more information on this story as it develops.
