Saints Row IV Finally Cleared For Australian Release

After the original version of Saints Row IV was denied an Australian Ratings Classification not once , but twice , a modified version of the game has finally been cleared for Australian release. Here’s the kicker, though: the modified version of the game has been given the MA15+ classification. Yes, the game that was too risqué for an entire country isn’t even getting the country’s highest R18+ rating!

As much as we liked to joke around about the ban being the result of that giant purple sex toy that is available in the game, it turns out that drugs were the real problem. A side mission involves using alien narcotics as a way to obtain superpowers. This side mission, which is only about 20 minutes of gameplay, has simply been taken out. Deep Silver said that the removal of this mission has no negative impact on the story or the superpowers that the player will eventually obtain. Not only that, but the Rectifier, the giant purple sex toy that the Australian Classification Board originally took issue with, will be included in the game with.
