OK, so we know that the Wii U is coming out sometime in 2012. Is there any way we can be a little more specific than that? Hey Sega, you have a working relationship with Nintendo right? What does Sonic say about Mario’s new platform? Well, Sega Executive Vice President of Marketing Alan Pritchard said that Sonic Generations would, unfortunately, not be coming to the Wii U. Why? Well he said that the timing simply didn’t work out. According to Pritchard the Wii U is coming out sometime next spring/summer. Pritchard doesn’t really think that porting games like Sonic Generations is a good idea, and would rather build the game from the ground up on the Wii U platform. According to him, there just isn’t enough time, but we may see a stand-alone Wii U Sonic title in the future. In all that info about Sonic, many gamers missed that he basically narrowed down the Wii U’s launch to the second quarter-ish. That’s far sooner than we thought. What do you think? Can we trust Sega or is this just a rumor? |
