Shank was the talk of the town about a year ago. This gritty comic book-style side-scrolling platformer/beat ‘em up brought us the best of grindhouse ultraviolence wrapped up in a downloadable game. Now, fans of the original will get a chance to slit some throats all over again; Shank 2 was just announced at the Electronic Arts Vegas Game Show. According to EA, Shank 2 is being built from the ground up from gameplay to graphics. Sure, it will still be a side-scrolling platformer/beat ’em up and it will still feature characters from the original, but the game is being developed with a whole new design philosophy. For example, online co-op support has already been announced as one of their key features, while a new survival mode will make score junkies happy.
