Shaun T of the Insanity Workout Featured By Xbox Fitness Trainer

Who doesn’t want to lose a few pounds in 2014? Oh come on, I’ll bet half of you reading this at least considered making that a New Year’s resolution (and the other half downed an Oatmeal Cream Pie at the very thought of it, like I did).

Xbox One’s fitness app has been popular among those gamers looking to shed a few pounds and hopefully have some fun while doing it. The staff at the Xbox Wire is bringing those folks some helpful hints from Shaun T himself. To help you stick with those diet plans this time around, some of the tips and tricks include:

• If you have a bad day (maybe you missed a workout or ate poorly), just remember it’s just a bad day.Don’t make it a     bad  week.

• Schedule your workout time like you would any other appointment; you’re more likely to stick with it.

• Leave your sneakers and workout clothing out so you’re ready to go first thing in the morning or as soon as you get     home.

• Feeling hungry or like noshing? Try sipping something that has no calories! I recommend a large water with lemon,     iced coffee  or iced tea.

• Add healthy fats to your meal to help you feel satisfied – avocado is my personal favorite!

If you currently have a gold membership to Xbox Live, you can get Xbox Fitness Trainer for free until January 15 th . Xbox Wire touts its integrated Kinect technology and claims it’s so advanced that “…it not only reads the distribution of your weight and the explosiveness of your movements, but it also provides an analysis of the areas of the body you are working and tracks your pulse, touch free.”

FYI: the moment my Xbox One tells me, “A second on the lips, forever on the hips,” I’m hitting it with a hammer.
