Do you suffer from arachnophobia? Does the mere prospect of encountering those eight skittering legs deep in an underground cavern within the mountains of Skyrim have you hesitating to boot up the epic and extremely popular RPG?

Your deliverance has come! Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you: the Bear Spiders Mod. Created by Luthien Anarion, this small patch converts the spiders of Skyrim into bears. Now those with an overpowering fear of arachnids can, at last, play through the game free of worries.



While it might seem a little silly—a texture mod born entirely of a phobia—it puts my mind at peace to know that Skyrim’s PC players are already looking for ways to alter the game in unique ways. Unfortunately, if you’re afraid of spiders and have the game on a console, you’re sorely out of luck.

And if you’re afraid of bears, too… Well, why are you even playing Skyrim? Seriously.
