Sony’s SmartEyeglasses Will Cost a Pricey $840

While the engineers at Sony continue to toil away developing Project Morpheus, a pricey new piece of tech hopes to tide people over until its release.

Dubbed “SmartEyeglass,” the SED-E1 is technically aimed at developers and not the general public, looking to compete directly with Google Glass. The glasses (which clock in at over $800) are described as “unique hologram optics in lightweight eyewear” by the company’s official site .

It is unclear how this will affect the price point or release date of Sony’s VR gaming headset (if at all), but no new info has been released in that regard for quite a while. However, if you’ve been looking to delve headfirst into the SmartGlasses craze (and would like a Google alterative), then you might want to keep both eyes on this little baby. Yes, huge pun intended.
