Square-Enix is currently looking to recruit new staff for a new studio that they are opening soon. This studio will focus primarily on developing new console RPGs, a thing that Square-Enix hasn’t done in recent days. The studio will be developing a brand new RPG IP for next-generation consoles, though they aren’t saying what it is yet.
In addition to core members of the Square-Enix staff, SE are looking for “directors [battle and event], planners [lead and battle], programmers and lead programmers, marketing directors, and various designers ranging from technical artists to menu designers.”
On the recruitment page, there is a message that says, “We went through all kinds of adventures back when we were children. Now that we’re adults, what kind of new stories can we come up with?”
Is this finally Square’s much awaited return to the console RPG market?
