Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition Version 2012 will be here sooner than you think. That’s right, the brand new balance patch for the most loved fighting game of the current generation will be available both in the arcades and on home consoles before you even have to switch calendars. It will first come to arcade cabinets on December 2nd, and will arrive as a free home console download on December 13th.

Besides a “Ver. 2012” stamp below the title screen’s logo, the patch will deliver some needed rebalancing to the game. Perhaps Yun and Fei Long won’t dominate the tiers anymore? Nah…



This will most likely be Street Fighter’s big last hurrah before the entire pro-gaming community switches over to the newer fighting games like Skullgirls, Street Fighter X Tekken, and Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. So enjoy the glory days of Street Fighter while you can; you’ll most likely remember them fondly when you’re getting hit by a 673-hit Vergil combo in UMvC3.
