Star Wars 1313 Revealed

Star Wars 1313 Revealed

None

LucasArts has officially pulled the curtain back on their new Star Wars franchise. Entitled Star Wars 1313, the third-person action-adventure game will see players assuming the role of an as-of-now unnamed bounty hunter.

The title will allow players to hunt down bounties and “uncover the truth surrounding a criminal conspiracy” on Level 1313, the seedy criminal underground of Coruscant, where the game will take place. Players will be tasked with using “human skills and gadgets” instead of Force powers, which would appear to mark quite the shift from LucasArts’ last Star Wars series: The Force Unleashed. That might not be a bad thing.

The publisher is saying that the game will “emphasize epic set pieces and fast paced combat,” and to that end they’ve decided to utilize the Unreal engine, along with full-body performance capture. Artists from Lucasfilm Animation Ltd., Industrial Light and Magic, and Skywalker Sound are also on board.

Further details are still scarce, but LucasArts promises to reveal more about the new series at E3 next week. As always, we’ll update when they do.
