Steam Bundles are Cheaper if You Own Some of the Games

Have you ever seen a bundle of games on Steam, thought it looked great, but hesitated when it came to buying because you already owned some? No point in buying something when you already own half of it, right? Apparently, Valve understands, because it’s implementing a new business practice where if you own some games in the bundle already, the price drops.

People can see this in action with some bundles of Valve games on Steam. The Valve Complete Pack is a good example. It’s normally $92.70. Since I already own Portal, Portal 2 , and Left 4 Dead 2 , the bundle’s price drops to $70.20 for me.

So far, only official Valve bundles seem to be reflecting this change in Steam’s policies. Hopefully, other developers and publishers will also adopt the practice and start offering lower priced bundles when you already own one or two of the games in them!
