Street Fighter V Online Functionality Restored on PC, PS4

Street Fighter V Online Functionality Restored on PC, PS4

Street Fighter V had a really rough launch, there’s no doubt about that. Competitive fighting game fans like myself don’t really care that the game lacks in single-player content, but plenty of you guys care, and you let Capcom know. What was most unfortunate was the online connectivity issues that plagued us on launch day all through Wednesday. I played online for a bit yesterday on my PS4, but I was still having trouble joining battle lounges. This was the final straw for many, since the only thing to do in Street Fighter V is play online, assuming you don’t live with someone who wants to play versus mode with you.

Capcom has been working around the clock on its server issues, and it seems like everything has been resolved. I expect we’ll still see a few hiccups here and there as server maintenance is ongoing, though. In a statement, Capcom said: “We are making on-going improvements to stabilize the servers so that online connectivity problems and log-in errors that people are facing will no longer occur. We’re happy to report today that most of the issues that have been reported have now been resolved.” Like I said in my review, if you’re into the competitive fighter scene, you take the good with the bad because gameplay in SFV is so dang solid.
