A few days before Street Fighter X Tekken’s release, some gamers hacked the disc to discover that all future DLC content was already built into the game. The result was an explosion of fan outrage. Members of the fighting game community felt cheated in that they were essentially buying a game with locked content that they would have to pay for later. Christian Svensson of Capcom, however, said that we have all jumped to the wrong conclusions and that their pricing scheme would be very reasonable. Only a few days later he revealed that every costume in the game was going to cost one dollar. As an alternative, you can purchase either all the costumes for the Street Fighter side or all the costumes from the Tekken side fin a thirteen dollar bundle pack. The twelve locked characters will all come in a $20 bundle. Each character will have two costumes to buy, so it will cost $52 to purchase them all. Along with the DLC characters, this brings the total cost of DLC up to $72.
What do you think? Is it fair for Capcom to be charging us for content on the disk? Or should we have gained access to all of this the minute we purchased SFxTK? By Angelo M. D’Argenio |
