Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Has Gaming Music Crossovers

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Has Gaming Music Crossovers

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is already one of the craziest crossover fighting games ever made, with its enormous roster of Nintendo (and some third-party) characters. But one part of the series that deserves extra attention this time around is the soundtrack. While the music in Super Smash Bros . has always featured impressive remixes of classic music, there’s a little something extra in this year’s round of arrangements. This time, the music tracks featured in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate are crossovers themselves, with composers from classic games taking on music for games that aren’t the originals they worked on in the past.

There are several examples, and more being added over time to the official Super Smash Bros. Ultimate website. Some of them are more fitting than others, some of them are weird as hell, and some of them are like dream matches that you never even knew you wanted. Some choice examples include Metal Gear and Zone of the Enders composer Maki Kirioka arranging Snipperclips , Ace Attorney and Lunar composer Noriyuki Iwadare taking on Kirby Air Ride , and Daytona and Virtua Fighter composer Takenobu Mitsuyoshi doing F-Zero , complete with his trademark vocals. Another one that seems to be an elaborate play on words is Yoshino Aoki of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of Fire fame arranging music from Breath of the Wild .
