Star Wars: TIE Fighter (Collector’s CD-ROM) Cheats & Cheat Codes for DOS, Macintosh, and Microsoft Windows, and More

Star Wars: TIE Fighter is a space flight simulator set in the iconic Star Wars universe. This game expands on the already extensive lore of the movies, bridging the gap between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Star Wars: TIE Fighter was developed by Totally Games and published by LucasArts, the company originally responsible for all Star Wars media. The game was originally released on home computers like DOS, Macintosh, and Microsoft Windows in 1994.

After its initial release, Star Wars: TIE Fighter was showered with praise from critics and fans. Many critics considered it one of the greatest video games of all time when it was released. At the time, Star Wars: TIE Fighter offered the most immersive Star Wars experience, making it one of the more beloved games within the fanbase.

Star Wars: TIE Fighter Premise

Instead of being on the good guy side and playing as a Jedi or a member of the Rebel Alliance, Star Wars: TIE Fighter does something different. In this game, you play as a pilot for the Empire. The game picks up right after the Empire’s victory in the battle of Hoth. It’s up to you to defend “peace” in the galaxy by fighting rebels, pirates, and traitors. Players even have to protect Emperor Palpatine from a deadly coup attempt.

Star Wars: TIE Fighter Main Character

Although the player character is left nameless in Star Wars: TIE Fighter, it is revealed in side books and strategy guides. The player takes on the role of Maarek Stele. Throughout the missions in the game, Maarek Stele quickly becomes one of the greatest soldiers in the Empire and one of the best pilots in the galaxy.

Star Wars: TIE Fighter Series

After the original Star Wars trilogy debuted, a number of popular game series were released set in this epic universe. The Star Wars: X-Wing series was one of these collections of games. These games were all space flight simulators where players either belonged to the Empire or the Rebel Alliance. Star Wars: TIE Fighter was the second game in the series. There are four games in the series, each one beloved by the fans.

  • Star Wars: X-Wing (1993)
  • Star Wars: TIE Fighter (1994)
  • Star Wars: X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter (1997)
  • Star Wars: X-Wing Alliance (1999)
