Tekken 7 Getting PlayStation VR Treatment

Tekken 7 Getting PlayStation VR Treatment

During Sony’s pre-Paris Games Week conference a very curious announcement was made: Tekken 7 will be compatible with PlayStation VR. It was almost mentioned in passing, and there weren’t any details given as to how exactly that will work.

Tekken 7 had an exciting trailer, but not much footage from the game was showcased at all. We’re wondering if perhaps there will be some kind of first-person component separate from the regular game modes, or if it will use a camera setting that can be toggled in any game mode. I’d imagine that someone wearing an HMD playing in first-person would have a distinct disadvantage against an opponent who is playing the game in the typical side-view format.

Perhaps the PS VR display will be simply that: a display. It’s possible that some games may offer PS VR compatibility so you can play your games while others use the television, or at night time so you don’t disturb your partner. Maybe you’ll be able to watch back saved replays in first person. Let us know in the comments what you think Tekken 7 in virtual reality will be like.
