TGS 2011: Disgaea Vita, Android Details

None

With the recent release of Disgaea 4: A Promise Unforgotten, the over-the-top strategy RPG series is back in the limelight. It’s only appropriate, then, that Nippon Ichi Software America had some Disgaea-centered goodness to deliver at their conference earlier today.

First off, some details on the PlayStation Vita port of Disgaea 3. Now subtitled “Absence of Detention,” the Vita version will feature new maps, game systems and characters, expanding it beyond its PlayStation 3 progenitor.

Next, the new Android game, Disgaea: Netherworld Unbound. A port of the original PlayStation 2 game that started the series, Netherworld Unbound will take advantage of its mobile platform with a microtransaction store, allowing players to purchase additional characters, items, and features as they see fit.

Additionally, at the conference, NIS America revealed that they would be publishing both Clan of Champions—the multiplayer action game from Tenchu and Way of the Samurai studio Acquire—and Hyperdimension Neptunia MK2, which promises a free-roaming battle system with better and faster combos.

Disgaea: Netherworld Unbound will be out this fall, with the other three titles following in the spring of 2012.
