TGS 2011: New SoulCalibur V Characters

None

The Tokyo Game Show is like Christmas in summertime for gamers. SoulCalibur was left underneath our Tokyo Game Show tree this year, and when we unwrapped it, we got two totally new characters.

For anyone who likes playing big slow dumpy bruisers but for some reason is uncomfortable playing Siegfried and his long flowing mane of blond hair, not to worry because Astaroth has returned to the playing field. He still has his giant axe, and he still moves as slow as he ever did, although he has been sped up to match the faster fighting speed of SoulCalibur V all together.

Joining him is Viola, a brand new character that appears to fight with a floating array of beads. She seems to have some connection with Zwei, the character that fights with a strange sword called Kreuzgriff. At this point, we are getting a little liberal on what we call “weapon fighting” aren’t we? I mean giant metal hula hoop of death was bad enough, but now this?
