The Week in Review news piece summarizes and highlights the most important gaming related news and rumors over the past week. This weekly article will keep you plugged in and in-tune.

Last week, Sony introduced HBO programming to PlayStation Network. This week, rumors are swirling surrounding Xbox LIVE and the possible inclusion of a Hulu app for the dashboard. In case you’re unaware of Hulu, it is a free online video service that streams popular TV programs. Whether the service remains free, or whether it will cost an additional fee through Microsoft to get access via Xbox LIVE is still unknown.

Just as Sony and Microsoft have been duking it out for our attention, so too have EA and 2KSports. NBA Live is getting a complete revamp this year. It will include analog stick-based controls and has even gotten a name change to NBA ELITE 11 to mark this transition. Quick to reply, 2KSports confirmed that Michael Jordan will feature on the cover of NBA 2K11. It is also presumed that the basketball legend will be playable through some kind of legends mode.

Another rumor that circled the Internet late this week is that the Rare-developed classic for the N64, GoldenEye 007, is getting remade for both Wii and DS. Apparently, this title is being developed by both Eurocom and n-Space and will be confirmed at E3 2010.

Activision came out this week and officially confirmed the development of Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock. This title in the storied franchise will feature a “story-driven Quest Mode” as well as “a completely redesigned rock-inspired guitar controller” and “the biggest on-disc selection of rock music ever in a Guitar Hero game.”

Finally, The Lord of the Rings Online will be updated this fall as a free-to-play MMO both in North America and Europe. Beta access starts on June 16 th . This is the second Turbine MMO that has switched to the free-to-play model, as Dungeons & Dragons Online: Eberron Unlimited made the switch last year.

Thanks so much everyone and we will see you next week!
