The Workaround Workaround: The Division’s New Exploit

The developers over at Ubisoft Massive must feel like they’re doing battle with the craftiest, most persistent, demonic hydra; patching up one glitch only to learn about another; preventing the use of one exploit only to wake up to headlines of two more viable options for cheesing bosses and getting tons of end-game loot. I’m not sure who’s worse off, the developers themselves, or honest gamers just trying to play The Division the way it was meant to be played. If you’re one of the good guys, you can skip this article. If you’re a lowdown cheat, and I know you are, read on to find out how to easily score some of the best loot in the game (at your own risk).

As you can probably guess, this involves using the mobile shield to glitch through some textures. What you do is this: get your team together for the “Falcon Lost” incursion and head to the boss fight area. Do not start the boss fight or aggro any of the mobs, you’ll need to piss them off in a second, but if the fight starts prematurely this won’t work. One of your teammates will exit and go to the nearest safehouse. Use your mobile cover to glitch through the same texture that’s been exploited so far (why wasn’t this patched?) to trigger the “You are out of the map” warning. Before the game can teleport you out, fast travel to a teammate to fall through the level and you should end up on top of the APC.

From here you’ll want to shoot a sticky bomb at the mobs to aggro them. Several of them will throw grenades at you, but you’re protected by an invisible wall. The boss, on the other hand, will take splash damage from those grenades. Go eat a sandwich or something, then come back to claim your amazing new gear. Rinse and repeat from there, you scoundrels, until Ubisoft issues more empty threats or otherwise patches this all up.
