Purple is a great color. Some of our favorite things are best when they’re purple: Kool-aid, jelly, weed, Pokemon (because we all know Gengar is the best), and especially loot. Whether you’re playing WoW, Diablo, Destiny, or The Division , you want to see more of that purp. We understand and share your passion for all things purple, and we’re here to further enable and encourage your addiction. Thanks to Simply Jay, we know probably the fastest and most reliable method for farming purples in The Division. Here’s what you have to do:
You’re going to be running the mission “General Assembly.” There are multiple bosses in this mission that are guaranteed to drop a few purples, and there’s a good chance you’ll find some off of random enemies as well. Toward the beginning of the mission there are a few gates that separate you from the U.N. building, but you can get past those no problem. Run right past the JTF officer in the beginning of the mission and don’t pick up the explosives – otherwise you’ll have to deal with some pesky turrets. Run straight ahead to the big gate. It will be closed, but if you toss your mobile cover at the gate it will glitch and extend through to the other side. Now all you need to do is take cover and slide along to the other side of the gate.
Once you’re on the other side, take down your mobile cover so it can start recharging; you’re going to do the exact same thing to get past the next gate on your right, which will get you into the U.N. building courtyard. You’ll use the exact same trick to get into the building, but you’ll need to place your mobile cover in a very specific spot. Check out Simply Jay’s video below to see how to break in.
