The Xbox 360 Sells 750,000 During Black Friday Week

The Xbox 360 Sells 750,000 During Black Friday Week

It’s no lie that videogame consoles fly off the shelves during the holiday season, and the Xbox 360 seems to be doing quite well for itself this year. Last week, more than 750,000 Xbox 360 consoles were sold, leeching off the boost provided by black Friday.

That’s quite impressive, especially when you consider the Wii U only sold around 400,000 units. Then again, that’s just about every single Wii U that was shipped. Nintendo seems to be purposefully limiting the quantities in order to boost enthusiasm for the system.

Considering that the Xbox 360 is now a seven-year-old console, it’s still doing quite well for itself. Big name titles, like Halo 4, are still being released, and Xbox users are still subscribing to Xbox Live Gold enough to increase the subscription rate by 50 percent from last year.

This console generation is winding down and prices are lower than ever. So if you want to finally get your chance to play some Xbox 360 exclusives, or finally get your hands on a Kinect, you’ll have at least 750,000 more people to play with.
