A week ago, we ran a story about an upcoming rhythm game/RPG called Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy. Square-Enix thought that it would be a good idea to stuff all our favorite Final Fantasy heroes into a music game, and RPG fans everywhere locked themselves in their rooms, curled into balls, and cried. However, we are here to tell you that it isn’t that bad. The game will be developed by indieszero, the Tokyo-based studio that brought us Electroplankton. Recently, Square and indieszero released a few details about the upcoming rhythm RPG, and it actually sounds kind of fun.
Even cooler is the game’s supposed track-list. We aren’t going to be playing the same old U2 songs over and over again in Theatrhythm. Instead, we’ll get to play remixes of Final Fantasy themes of old. Currently announced tracks include “Clash on the Big Bridge” from Final Fantasy V, “One Winged Angel” from Final Fantasy VII, “At Zanarkand” from Final Fantasy X, and “The Sunleth Waterscape” from Final Fantasy XIII. |
