Tokyo Mirage Sessions Special Edition Revealed

Tokyo Mirage Sessions Special Edition Revealed

Do you love Shin Megami Tensei ? Do you love Fire Emblem ? If you answered “yes” to either of those questions then I’m sure you’re looking forward to Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE, an over-the-top weird game with an over-the-top weird name. This is the JRPG that none of us knew we wanted, and with Nintendo, Atlus, and Intelligent Systems all on board you know it’s going to be incredible. Just to be clear, this isn’t going to be like a standard SMT or Persona game with Fire Emblem characters. This is a totally new IP with some familiar faces, first-class dungeon crawling, flashy combat, and a J-pop soundtrack powered by entertainment giant Avex.

Nintendo and Atlus have announced an attractive special edition that comes with some very colorful exclusives. In addition to the Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE game disc, the special edition will come with a 5×8, full-color art book, a six-track CD featuring some of the best tunes from the game, six song cards with translated lyrics, a sticker sheet (why am I so excited about the sticker sheet?), and download codes for five DLC packs that would otherwise cost $2 each if downloaded separately. In North America this special edition will be available exclusively through GameStop and Amazon Prime for a suggested retail price of $80.

Keep in mind, Amazon Prime members, that you can also take advantage of your 20% discount. That will bring the price down to $64 (what most people pay for a new, standard edition game). We’re not sure when the special edition will be available for pre-order, but it will be playable in English for the first time this weekend at PAX East, so we’ll probably get some great footage and hands-on impressions on Monday.
