Toys ‘R’ Us Selling Used Games

Toys ‘R’ Us Selling Used Games

None

The used game market continues to be the bane of many companies in the video game industry. While having to combat GameStop would seem to be enough of a problem, several retail stores have also been entering the used game market over the last few years. One company, Toys ‘R’ Us, began purchasing used games last year, giving them to an outside company to resell. However, they look to be stepping up their involvement (via GameSpot).

Today, Toys ‘R’ Us has announced that they will be beginning to sell used games at over half of their locations, 500 of nearly 850 US stores. The store will still be purchasing used games at their guest services desk, however, they will be sending them to a separate company to test and send back for resale. While Toys ‘R’ Us currently buys back games from all manner of older systems, they will only be reselling used games for the current generation of consoles, and their used titles will be priced at $30 or less.
