Trackmania Turbo is finally here. Well, it’s not actually here until March 22, so it’s right around the corner. If you’re into arcade or kart-style racing games, this is definitely something you should look into. Trackmania has built its fan-base by consistently delivering speed, open-ended progression models, tons of customization, fully-featured track editors, and tons of replayability in its games. Trackmania Turbo looks like it’s taking the best of what the series has had to offer thus far and cramming it all into one game.
If this is the first you’ve heard about it, or maybe you’re just on the fence, Ubisoft is hosting an open beta for consoles that begins tomorrow. You’ll be able to download the beta client from the Xbox or PlayStation stores, and the beta begins at 9 AM eastern. It sounds like the perfect beta to me: there are 20 solo tracks to play, the track editor will be available to mess around with, and there will be an online component as well. What’s more, the beta concludes on March 21, and if you decide to purchase the game all of your progress will carry over.
