Ubisoft Unveils More of Child of Light, a Surprising, JRPG-Inspired Game

As previously announced , Triple-A magnate and creator of the mammoth Assassin’s Creed franchise, Ubisoft, has taken an unexpected and refreshing turn for the artsy and fantastical in its newest project, the JRPG-inspired Child of Light . The half-platformer/half-turn-based JRPG comes from the mind of Far Cry 3 director Patrick Plourde and will be built on the studio’s Rayman engine. The only thing keeping the game out of the winner’s circle at the “Unlikely to Exist Olympics” would be a notably tailored aesthetic designed to evoke a childlike sense of whimsy—oh, wait, it has that too. However, Ubisoft recently revealed some new information: Child of Light and all its aesthetic glory (which you can check out in the trailer above) will be coming to PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and Wii U—eventually. For now, sit back and admire the watercolor. For more on the game, check out this article by Becky Cunningham.
