EA is partnering with Sony to launch the first all-video-game sports channel. V Sport TV will feature live and pre-recorded sporting events played all around the world. This is where you come in: The new channel will be looking for programmers, announcers, and players.

In early 2012, EA opened its first all-sports bar in the Cosmopolitan in Vegas. It features rows of high def big screens displaying sports games played live in the house. The EA Sports Bar is one of the most popular attractions in Vegas. It’s not uncommon to stand in line for hours on weekends to gain entrance. Flushed with the success of the sports bar, EA and Sony are moving the bar concept to your living room, alcohol and scantily clad waitresses not included.

V Sport TV is set to debut in 2013. It will feature 24-hour virtual sports gaming. Many events will be played live, and will be open to online gamers watching—and playing—from the comfort of their homes. EA is in the process of securing sponsorships for live events. Huge cash prizes will be awarded. It’s hoped the money and exposure will attract big-name celebrities from the world of sports, music, TV, and movies. Successful and popular gamers can also look forward to lucrative endorsement deals from controller manufacturers to diet beverage producers.

EA claims no sport will be overlooked. From Football to foosball, from hockey to darts, V Sport TV will offer it all (although games such as checkers to be scheduled for the wee hours.) In prime time, expect to see and hear Madden doing the play-by-play on Madden Live, and Don Cherry on Hockey Night in Canada.

There are openings for a variety of sports shows, since this is a new channel looking to add new content and talent. If you have interests in being a competitor, an announcer, a camera operator, programmer, or TV host, V Sport TV wants to give you a chance. Auditions will be taking place online during the summer. The V Sport TV website will be up and running in a few weeks. In the meantime, get your game on.
