Vietnam Drops Banhammer On Nighttime Gaming

Vietnam Drops Banhammer On Nighttime Gaming

None

Do you like to play video games late at night? If the answer is yes, then I hope you don’t live in Vietnam. Vietnam’s Ministry of Information and Communication is in the process of implementing a bill that forbids online gaming activities between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. The Ministry has given the country’s ISPs until March 3rd to adhere to this regulation, or they risk having their services cancelled.

This seems to be a strange, yet severe regulation to adopt, and it begs the question why? Why does the Vietnamese government feel that this is necessary? Details on that are still unknown, but think about this next time you get in trouble for playing games too late.
