We Can Play in Google’s Daydream Very Soon

Google is working hard on the launch of its new VR platform “Daydream,” which it wants to compete with the likes of Oculus and Sony for VR dominance. Google envisions Daydream being the prominent go-to platform for mobile VR, much in the same way that Android is the go-to OS. Daydream would basically be the software foundation out of which different apps, games, and videos would run, and it would also serve as the storefront where users will search for, purchase, and download their content. Updates to Android’s mobile OS have already begun rolling out in support of Daydream, which is expected to launch in the coming weeks.

According to Bloomberg Tech , Google is spending a lot of money to outsource and produce apps and entertainment for its VR platform. It’s dropping five and six-figure sums here and there, funding different things, and seeing what works. Prominent YouTubers have been recruited to produce content for Daydream, as well as filmmakers and major sports broadcasters. Of course, multiple games are being developed for Daydream as well. Expect to hear more about Daydream very soon, and I’ll be sure to try it for myself and update you with my impressions.
