We May Not Return to Arkham Until November or Later

Batman: Return to Arkham is a collection we were all looking forward to, containing remastered versions of Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City as well as all of the respective DLC for both games. Originally Return to Arkham was set to release on July 26, but last month we learned that Warner Bros. decided to delay the release indefinitely. We still haven’t heard any official estimate as to when Return to Arkham might be ready, but multiple sources have told Eurogamer not to expect anything until at least November.

According to those same sources, while a November launch is now being targeted, an additional delay is possible. If things don’t go according to plan, it could be early 2017 before we return to Arkham. The reasons for the delay are many and varied. Suffice it to say that the game wasn’t up to the high standards set by Warner Bros. “After reviewing the progress of the project, the team at WB Games has decided to delay the release of Batman: Return to Arkham to give the team at Virtuous Games additional time to deliver a polished Batman Arkham game experience,” the publisher reiterated. It sounds like maybe we should keep our hopes low for a 2016 release.
