Nintendo’s enigmatic new console has been getting some press lately for remarks about its power and its potential as a high-definition console. The veracity of these comments isn’t beyond reproach, but there is a reveal that has come straight from the horse’s mouth. We’ve all known that the Wii U is slated for a 2012 release, hitting stores before the end of the year, but a recent statement from Satoru Iwata holds that the Wii U will launch in the big four territories (United States, Europe, Australia, and Japan) in time for the year-end season.
