Sorry, superstars, but WWE 2K16 may not be working exactly the way you’d expect. It all depends on whether or not you got the $7.99 Future Stars DLC, which added Blake & Murphy, Los Matadores, and Samoa Joe to the game. The problem is, adding these dudes to the cast broke the Universe mode.
People who downloaded WWE 2K16’ s Future Stars DLC found an unfortunate surprise when starting the game again. It reset the Universe Mode once installed. This is the story mode, which allows people to manage their own storylines and shows. All of it disappears in the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game, due to this DLC issue.
2K Games is aware of WWE 2K16’ s problems and is working on repairing the problem. No word on if reset save data can somehow be salvaged. At least PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 owners didn’t get their saves trashed by this DLC.
