Xbox 360’s ESPN App Is Dead

Xbox 360’s ESPN App Is Dead

We’ve lost a way to get our sports fix. Xbox 360 owners, join me for a moment of silence. The ESPN on Xbox 360 app is gone. Support ended last week, making the Xbox One the only system with a dedicated ESPN app.

To be fair, the Xbox One version of the ESPN app is slightly superior. In addition to the whole Watch ESPN option, which let you watch what was being shown at the moment, it also lets you watch sports while doing other things on your Xbox One. You just say, “Xbox, Snap ESPN,” if you have the equipment for voice controls. It also has ESPN Fantasy Football, for people who participate in fantasy football leagues and want to keep track of their players.

If your Xbox 360 was how you were keeping up with ESPN, it’s time to look into other alternatives. The Xbox One is obviously a possible choice. Cable is an option, or PlayStation TV if you don’t want to be locked into a year of service and have a PS4. If you have a smartphone, there are ESPN apps for Android and iOS. Also, you could get a Roku or other streaming device to keep up!
