YouTube: The Video Game Detailed*

None

Not only can you watch videos on YouTube, but now you can play YouTube with YouTube the Video Game. This puzzle game puts you in charge of assembling various YouTube videos that have been mysteriously disassembled. Based on actual YouTube videos , this game promises to offer plenty of laughs, shocks , and challenges.

As Paul Duffin , it’s your responsibility to piece together an assortment of YouTube videos for broadcast before the end of the day. There are literally hundreds of video snippets scattered about onscreen , and it’s your job to piece them back together. It’s a virtual puzzle. The game begins with simple categories and larger pieces of video and audio snippets. Things get more difficult as you progress. Video and audio clips have become smaller and separated. In addition, some of the audio and video clips have been rendered backwards. There are entire sections missing in some clips that will cause you to have to try to make and record these missing parts on your own.

Another gameplay element is the flagging system. You’ll review a series of videos that have been deemed inappropriate by members. Using a template of ethical standards , you’ll have to judge these videos for yourself. Some of these videos are incredibly shocking while others are seemingly tame by comparison. But be careful, if you’re too hasty with your judgment , the members will complain and move to your competition, MeTube. Some of the seemingly innocent videos may have hidden elements , while some of the shocking ones do not breach the code of ethics.

“We wanted to present a game that is in tune with what kids are doing these days,” says former Cheat CC CEO Arty Hackery. “Kids aren’t into bowling so much these days. They seem to really be into computers so I’m told. And looking up videos on YouTube is very popular, so I’m told. So if we combined these two things, it’s got to be a hit. It’s like feces and toilet paper, you can’t have one without the other, so I’m told.”

Videos will include a variety of categories including the paranormal, animals doing tricks, music videos, puppet shows, parodies, movie clips , and the typical assortment of people that should never be allowed to make a video.

Points will be awarded for completing videos within a specified time limit. A Freestyle mode will allow more creative types to work their magic as they piece different segments together to make something entirely new. These videos will be judged by a panel of experts and winning entries will be posted, where else? On YouTube.
