You kind of have to wonder if Pokemon Go was a success sometimes. I mean, it’s certainly fallen out of favor recently. But App Annie , a market researcher, has information that proves that it was good while it was at its best. Its data suggests the game made over $950 million in 2016.
This comes after a rather successful launch. App Annie reported back in October 2016 that Pokemon Go ended up making over $600 million within 90 days after its launch. After 110 days, it passed $800 million. So, reaching $950 million by the end of 2016 isn’t too bad.
If all goes well, Pokemon Go could absolutely reach a billion in the next few weeks. Though, it has dropped out of the top 10 game lists on both Google Play and iTunes, so it will probably take longer to reach subsequent revenue hallmarks over the next year.
