Mass Effect 2 is often cited as the best game in the series’ original trilogy. It refined the gameplay of the original, allowed you to get to know all your companions, and lacked a certain (ahem) ending controversy. If you’re feverishly attempting to get to know the series before Mass Effect: Andromeda comes out, EA is providing you with a little help – as long as you play on PC.
Yes, Origin’s On the House program is offering up Mass Effect 2 as its latest free title. All you have to do is have an Origin account, log in, and claim your game. After that, you own it permanently and can download it at any time.
Note that this free version of Mass Effect 2 comes with a few bits of DLC, including the popular Lair of the Shadow Broker storyline. It does not come with Arrival or Kasumi – Stolen Memory.
