Ubisoft Reveals Assassin’s Creed Identity

Ubisoft Reveals Assassin’s Creed Identity

Ubisoft is pushing the Assassin’s Creed franchise into new genres. Their newest project, Assassin’s Creed Identity , is an action-RPG style game only for mobile platforms. The game controls in a third person 3D behind the back mode. Players can move either by a virtual joystick, or via tap to move commands.  The game is class based, allowing each player to generate their own unique character each with their own unique skills. Missions in the game will be randomly generated, allowing no two playthroughs to be the same.

It seems pretty good for a mobile game, but there are some things to be wary about. First of all, there is the elephant in the room that is microtransactions. Ubisoft says that the whole game will be free to play, which is awesome, but since it will fund itself via microtransactions and since we don’t yet know how those microtransactions will work we might get into a sort of “pay to win” situation. However, there also seems to be gameplay tied into social networking, as players can hire their friends to complete missions for them, and call them into battle.

We will bring you more information about Assassin’s Creed Identity as it comes closer to its U.S. release. The game is currently available in Australia on iOS 7 or greater operating systems.
