Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is the most recent release in the iconic franchise developed and published by Ubisoft. In Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, you control a Viking clan leader, leading them to settle new lands on an expansion across Europe in the late-9th century. Much of the game takes place in Anglo-Saxon England, featuring early versions of cities like Winchester, London, and York. Throughout your adventure, you’ll also come across parts of Norway and Vinland, so it’s no wonder that it’s one of the biggest Assassin’s Creed games to date.
The game leans heavily into the themes of Nordic mythology, treating the subject with great respect. It even features fully-realized dreamscapes of Asgard and Jotunheim, which is explorable. In many ways, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is a love letter to Nordic mythology, and those with even a vague interest in it will find plenty to enjoy here.

The scale of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla extends beyond just its map. With multiple countries featured, it also features an extremely diverse cast of characters that will impact every step of your story. The game does a great job at ensuring each one has their own important role to play. These are the most crucial characters you need to know before playing Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.
Key Characters
- Eivor: Eivor is the Assassin’s Creed Valhalla‘s protagonist, and can be either male or female depending on player choice. After witnessing their parents die as a child, Eivor grows up to be a strong leader, taking their clan across the seas to England. There, they conquer the Kingdoms of Wessex, Northumbria, East Anglia, and Mercia. Eivor has a personal motivation, too, seeking revenge on Kjotve the Cruel for the murder of their parents many years ago.
- Layla: Layla’s story began in Assassin’s Creed Origins, was followed up in Odyssey, and concludes here in Valhalla. As the protagonist of the modern-day storyline, Layla begins to struggle with the power of the Staff of Hermes Trismegistus, and heads to Norway for more answers.
- Sigurd: Sigurd is the adopted brother of Eivor, and son of King Styrbjorn. The pair develop a close bond over the years, and Sigurd introduces Eivor to the Hidden Ones, the precursor to the Assassin Order. Their relationship strengthens as the game goes on, with Sigurd helping Eivor to exact revenge on Kjotve the Cruel.
- Basim: Basim is a Hidden One who follows Sigurd to Norway to continue expanding the brotherhood’s worldwide influence. Eventually consumed by Loki’s memories, Basim finds himself in a duel with Eivor, leaving him trapped in an Animus-esque supercomputer called Yggdrasil. This allows him to live for over a millennium, eventually being discovered by Layla in 2020.
- King Styrbjorn: Styrbjorn is King of Rygjafylke, and the adopted father of Eivor. Sick of constant fighting, King Styrbjorn struck a deal with Harald Fairhair, surrendering his territory in exchange for peace. This meant that Harald became the first King of Norway, a change which set Eivor and Sigurd on the path to England.

When Assassin’s Creed was first released as a spiritual successor to Prince of Persia in 2007, Ubisoft couldn’t have envisioned the series would become so successful. The company wasted no time capitalizing on that newfound popularity, getting to the point where several new titles were released in most calendar years. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Cheat Codes
Unfortunately, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla follows the same approach as every other game in the series. It lacks any official cheats codes, meaning that you’ll have to download the third-party program Cheat Engine to make your life easier in the game. Can I Be Banned For Cheating in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla?
It’s very unlikely. Ubisoft isn’t scanning every single player to make sure they’re not cheating in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, and there are no reports online of anyone being banned for using Cheat Engine.
If you’re still worried, you can always play the game while offline. You’ll still have to launch the game through Ubisoft Connect, but it has no way of knowing and communicating that to issue a ban.
How Can I Get Infinite Resources in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla?
If you don’t want to use Cheat Engine, you can always use exploits to earn unlimited titanium, nickel, and tungsten in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. There’s actually one perfect farming method that makes this really simple.
First, head to the road just east of the town in Glowecestrescire, where you’ll come across a crossroads. Hide in a bush here and make a save. Reload this save instantly. There should now be three guards coming down the hill. Assassinate them and loot their bodies. You’ll receive a good amount of titanium, nickel, and tungsten. Return to the bush and save once more.
Now, all you have to do is load your save and repeat the process. It’s such a fast way of gaining resources, and theoretically, you could farm this to infinity.
Can I Get Free Helix Credits in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla?
Sadly not. Helix Credits are Ubisoft’s currency for purchasing in-game items in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, and the studio keeps a tight leash on how many it gives out to players. That doesn’t mean that everything in the Helix Store is locked away for good.
Instead, you can earn opals. There are various ways to earn opals, and while you can’t spend them directly in the Helix Store, you can spend them in Reda’s shop in Ravensthorpe. Why is this important? Reda’s shop has a weekly randomized assortment of Helix Store items, where you’re able to spend opals instead of real-life cash. In terms of what you can purchase, you’re at the mercy of the randomizer. For many, this will be a much more viable alternative to spending hard-earned money.
