Neptunia Team Tackles Fairies

Neptunia Team Tackles Fairies

The team behind the Neptunia series of console-war-focused JRPGs is trying their hand at a new fiction with Fairy Fencer F. Set to be published by Compile Heart, the game was unveiled in Famitsu and has been announced to feature the talents of Yoshitaka Amano and Nobuo Uematsu, both associated with the Final Fantasy series for their artistic and musical contributions respectively.

Though few details have been released about the game, it is known that the story will center on a goddess and an evil god. It sounds as though it will be up to the players to combat a dystopic, or at least morally bankrupt, society. In doing so, they will use an updated version of the Neptunia series’ battle system, which will allow for mid-air combos and team attacks.

Fairy Fencer F is slated for a Japanese release on the PlayStation 3 in 2013. No word yet on a North American release.
