PC gamers have had plenty of time to enjoy The Witcher 2 since it came out in May. The game has received near unanimous critical acclaim, with critics praising the game’s visuals, customization, and story. Unfortunately, it looks like the rest of us will have to continue to wait patiently for the game to make its way to the Xbox 360. Originally planned for a release in late 2011, The Witcher 2’s console release has been delayed to the first quarter of next year. It’s not all bad news though—the reason the game’s been delayed is so developer CD Projekt can give it some extra polish. Speaking to VG24/7, CD Projekt’s boss Adam Kicinski said “The extra time will allow us to polish the title to perfection, so that the game offers an ideally balanced, fantastic experience to gamers. As the launch of the game approaches, we will be sharing more details how it will be released on Xbox 360. I trust that despite the release date shift, players will be satisfied with what we are planning for them.” Kicinski also hinted at some DLC details that will be unveiled at Gamescom in Germany later this month.
