100 More Pokemon Appear in Pokemon Go’s Code

Pokemon Go may be opening up soon. By that I mean we could be going past the original 151. People have been data-mining the game files and discovered information suggesting Ditto, one of the original 151 that isn’t yet in the game, and Pokemon 152-251, could be finding their way into the game.

Information on the data-mine has been posted on Silph Road . It notes that second generation characters have begun appearing in the code, but that there is no information on moves for them. However, information on the move “Transform,” which is Ditto’s signature attack, has appeared. The Silph Road notes that this information means client-side and server updates would be necessary for more Pokemon to begin appearing.

As fun as it would be to start seeing new Pokemon, I think I’d like it a lot more if Pokemon Go offered some other updates first. Maybe a functional tracker, like there was when the game launched? Maybe some kind of event to catch a legendary like Mew or Articuno? I’d love to have an Espeon or Umbreon, but there are other, more pressing issues Niantic needs to address.
