18-year-old Allegedly Connected to Lizard Squad Arrested

It would appear the digital dominos are slowly but surely beginning to fall, as authorities continue to close in on those responsible for the Christmas Day DDoS assaults.

After the cyber-terror group known as Lizard Squad took credit for knocking out both the PSN and Xbox Live over the holidays, one individual in Merseyside, England has been taken into custody. According to the police report, the man was arrested and evidence was procured form his home such as “…electronic and digital devices that will be examined by forensics units.”

The teen is also believed to be involved in another “swatting case,” however that has not yet been confirmed. Soon after the bust came down, SEROCU Cyber Crime Unit head Craig Jones released the following statement: “This investigation is a good example of joint law enforcement cooperation in relation to a type of criminality that is not restricted by any geographical boundaries…we are still at the early stages of the investigation and there is still much work to be done. We will continue to work closely with the FBI to identify those to who commit offences and hold them to account.”

If I were Lizard Squad, I’d start wiping their hard drives now. It seems as if there are more arrests imminent, which CheatCC will keep you updated on once they happen.
