3DS Design Finalized

3DS Design Finalized

None

At this year’s E3, we were all told by Nintendo the 3DS we were able to get our hands on wasn’t necessarily the final product. However, according to an interview between Wired and project designer Hideki Konno, the 3DS may have been more finalized than we were led to believe. When asked whether the look of the 3DS change before its release Konno stated “You can take this as the final shape.” While this doesn’t necessarily mean that nothing about the system will be changed, it would seem we can expect the exterior of the 3DS to still look very similar to that of the DS.

In this interview, Konno also outlined some details about the handheld’s new Tag Mode. Konno said “In the hardware, we have the capability that when you first play a game that supports Tag Mode, it will save to a Tag Mode data slot in the hardware system. We are planning to support multiple games at the same time: Mario Kart, Nintendogs, Animal Crossing, etc.” He goes on to explain “we’ll prepare a Tag Mode Viewer, where if you look at the viewer you’ll be able to see that, for example you were able to connect with 50 people in Nintendogs and got their data, or got 100 people in Animal Crossing.”
